Featured Mailbag Question of the Week (March 28 -April 3)
Sender: Eric Schindhelm
Q: This is really more of a plot question. I finished the game, but was curious about what exactly happened with the Fei's first ancestor, Abel, 10000 years ago. Maybe I missed something, but i don't really recall all that information about Abel. I just needed some clarification.
Nutz: Tough question. But let me recall Abel's story from the moment he was a child. Abel made contact with Zohar while on the Eldridge (he was barely 4 or 5, I think), and since he was lost, his longing to see his mother became the Wave Existence's will, which was inherited by Elly. But hey, we all know that. Elly and Miang, btw, were one person back then, and I call it, the Mother Persona. After the Zohar crashed on the planet, this Mother bore Cain and the Ministry, and later on replicated itself and produced Miang and Elly. Elly, after some years, met Abel (the survivor of the Eldridge tragedy), and her innermost instilled motherly will (from the wave existence) surfaced and chose to stay with Abel. They eventually fell in love. This angered Cain and the Ministry because it posed a treat to Deus ressurrection -- having a mingling in races (Abel's and Elly's race) would eventually lessen the chance of having more people to be terminal parts of Deus. All we then saw, is the part where Cain and the Ministry killed Elly, who was running with Abel at that time. After this, there was no more info on what happened to Abel, but we certainly think Abel and Elly had a child (or else, Fei would not have existed if his bloodline was already cut at that very point). Of course, Abel died, but how he died? We really have no idea.
